The Tamarack Day Program
307 - 57 Ave. SW
Our Day Program is called Tamarack, after a specific kind of North American larch tree. “Tamarack” comes from an Algonquian word, and describes the wood traditionally used to make snowshoes.
The program emphasizes individualized support, ensuring that each Core Member’s day is tailored to the interest and need. Our team of 12 specialized Assistants facilitates these activities, fostering a supportive and inclusive environment.
At Tamarack Day Program, our Core Members channel their creativity into crafting a wide array of beautiful items, including; candles, paintings, jewelry, soap, pottery, woodworking, knitted goods and more. These unique creations are available at our main office, where we invite you to support L’Arche Calgary through suggested donations. The majority of your donation goes directly to the artists to honor their talent and provide them with well-deserved recognition for their work. The remaining portion of your donation helps cover the cost of supplies, ensuring that core members have the materials they need to continue creating.
